Pain Relief

One of the significant benefits of CBD oil is its ability to relieve pain. CBD is thought to interact with receptors in the immune system and the brain to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. Some studies showed that it significantly reduces inflammation in rats and mice. Another recent study found that CBD offered pain relief to patients without any adverse side effects.

Anti-Seizure Properties

Over the years, several high-profile cases have raised the awareness of CBD oil in helping to manage seizures. Seizures result from a dramatic fluctuation in the brain’s electrical activity. A randomized trial investigated the effects of CBD on young adults with a rare type of epilepsy referred to as Dravet Syndrome. The syndrome is characterized by a higher frequency of seizures often induced by fever and patients who were given CBD experienced a significantly lower incidence of seizures.

CBD is most commonly used in treating psychological symptoms, but there’s increasing evidence that it can also be used in therapy to combat several mental health conditions such as anxiety. A recent study established that CBD significantly reduced subjective anxiety.

What is Disability Insurance for Physicians

What is a Disability Insurance for Physicians? This is a special insurance for physicians that acts as an income source in the event of any disabling event; basically, it’s a physician income insurance that will support you and your family during your recovery time. Not every Disability Insurance for resident physicians is the same, however, as there are different types that attend different needs, so don’t expect that all insurers will provide the same services. Speaking of which, should doctors get Disability Insurance? The answer is yes. Just because you’re a doctor doesn’t mean you’re immune to ailments. This article will present you the best insurance for doctors available that you can pick today.

What is Disability Insurance for Physicians

Just like the importance of health insurance and the benefits of Medicare, Disability Insurance for Physicians is crucial to consider. In this article, we’ll delve deeper into the topic of Disability Insurance for Physicians to help you gain insight into this matter. You’ll understand what is a Disability Insurance for Physicians, how do they work, and most importantly, when can you get yours today.

What is the Best Insurance for Doctors?

Right now, there are 3 types of Disability Insurance you can choose from:

  • Long-Term Disability Insurance. As the name implies, this insurance covers disabilities that will last far longer than a month or through age 65. The exact length is determined by your insurer, but the average is a three-month minimum.
  • Short-Term Disability Insurance. Industry professionals say this insurance covers Short-Term Disabilities that don’t last more than a few weeks; usually, no more than 3-6 months. Although this insurance has the least financial impact, it can help you access Long-Term Disability benefits later on, so it’s good to invest in a Short-Term Insurance, if the situation calls for it.
  • Social Security Disability Insurance. This one is not funded by insurers, but rather by taxpayers and administered by the Social Security Administration. This is the one we recommend the least, though, because the benefit amount is MUCH lower – not even close to your average physician’s monthly salary. Good thing is, it’s hard to qualify for this one, so don’t worry about having to rely automatically on this one.

Should Doctors Get A Disability Insurance?

Of course. If you’re a doctor and suffer a disability, you would be out of work for a good while; your financial responsibilities would not stop with you, and with your frozen income, you might get yourself into serious financial trouble.

When to File a Disability Claim?

This is why you must get a physician income insurance soon: you’re a human being, prone to accidents that may or may not happen tomorrow; better be safe than sorry.

Now, if you suffer from a disability and want to file a Disability Claim, the first thing you need to know is the timeframe in which you can do it.

As a rule of thumb, most insurance providers require a 20- to 30-day timeframe that starts on the date of the disability. In addition to this, you need to meet all qualifications stated in their insurance policy. The best thing is to get in touch with your insurer and ask them for details when filing for your claim, as to avoid any misunderstanding and to get a broader overview of their coverages.

Why do doctors need Disability Insurance?

Basically, a Disability Insurance replaces your income when you’re unable to work. It’s a financial support that prevents you from losing your house or your car, if you’re still paying for them.

How does Disability Insurance work?

This insurance provides income replacement benefits that tend to cover up to 60% of your average earnings. Payments are usually monthly.

Bottom Line

Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery

Botox vs Plastic Surgery

Today, there are many options that help people transform their looks, especially their face. Two of the most common anti-aging procedures are Botox and plastic surgery. When it comes to Botox vs plastic surgery, there are several significant differences to consider. The best results come from matching your needs to the right cosmetic procedure.

Botox vs Plastic Surgery

When making changes to something as visible as your face, you want to make sure you’re making the right decision. It’s crucial that you consult your physician and discuss your desired results so they can recommend the right treatment to deliver those results.

When is Botox Better Than Plastic Surgery?

Botox and facelift plastic surgery are inherently different. Botox is an alternative to getting plastic surgery and vice versa. Whether or not one treatment is more suitable than the other depends on the corrections you’d like to be made as well as your desired results.Botox vs Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery involves the use of anesthesia. The doctor will then make an incision, tighten deep tissue and lift or trim excess skin. Botox, on the other hand, is an injectable treatment. Your doctor will identify areas where Botox would be most beneficial before applying treatment.

Facelift: When You Need It

Here’s how you know plastic surgery is right for you:

Plastic surgery is designed to lift facial tissue and muscles, and remove any sagging skin, which is something Botox cannot do. Significant skin laxity is often a sign that you’re a good candidate for a facelift. As such, fat around your jaw or chin, loose skin, or deep folds or sagging tissue around your nose, cheeks and mouth are indicators that plastic surgery may be your best option. There are also methods to remove fat in other areas of your body.

Bear in mind that plastic surgery is not only more expensive, but also more invasive and requires more time to perform and recover than Botox. For some patients, however, plastic surgery may be the procedure that will deliver the results they want.

Botox: When You Need It

If you’re not after extreme results and only need to get rid of a few wrinkles then Botox should suffice. Botox is great for dealing with wrinkles caused by consistent muscle action over time. It works well for treating permanent lines and wrinkles in the surface of your skin, usually around the eyes and forehead.Botox vs Plastic Surgery

Botox is typically less expensive when compared to plastic surgery and requires less time for treatment and recovery. However, the results are temporary and maintaining a wrinkle-free appearance requires patients to continue injections over time.

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for longer lasting results, plastic surgery is a better choice. Botox helps with correcting sagging or skin laxity. In some cases, plastic surgery is the only procedure that can deliver your desired results. However, many patients can benefit from a simple Botox injection. When comparing Botox vs plastic surgery, be sure to talk to your doctor about your desired results and choose the option that will deliver the most natural looking outcome.

How To Prevent Infectious Diseases From Spreading

Do you know of anyone who was healthy but then was infected by a disease and become critically ill? We probably all know at least one person who has encountered such a situation. The body operates in a way that it acts as a barrier to diseases and infection through the immune system. However, this should make you believe that the body can fight diseases for itself because the disease will always find a new way of attacking the immune system. In recent days, there have been concerns on the precautions that people can take to prevent infections, and a number of practitioners have come up with solutions to this issue. This article will shed light on these simple solutions you can implement into your everyday life, and how to prevent infectious diseases from spreading.

Preventing Infectious Diseases From Spreading

Wash Your Hands Well and Frequently

Microbes can live anywhere whether that be on your hands or on everyday items that you come into contact with. As much as you may keep your home safe, you are not always certain how safe it is outside your home. It is proven that most microbes are transmitted through fomites – an intermediary between you and an infected person. You should ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly with running water and soap, and in case of the absence of running water, you can use an alcohol-based gel.

Avoid Sharing Personal Items

Items like toothbrushes, handkerchiefs, razors, and nail clippers can be sources of some infectious diseases. When you share such items, you will be at high chances of getting an infection if the person who used them prior to you was sick, since viruses always require a complete transmission which can happen to be from someone blood into yours.

Get Vaccinated

Although this might sound obvious, it is still one of the best controls against traditional infections. The immune system works in a way that it has the memory of previous infections and when you get infected again, it enhances the production of white blood cells to fight the disease. Vaccination is tricking the body that a particular microbe has infected it and this, therefore, improves its defense against an infection caused by the microbe.

Use Safe Cooking Practices

Poor food preparation and dining habits can lead to an infection and more significantly, cost you much more. One of the good things you can do is to make sure that your kitchen and dining area are all clean. You can do so by actively cleaning your kitchen area with commercial cleaners or homemade solutions with vinegar. Also, you can refrigerate your food at least two hours before it is prepared to stop the growth of microbes. Lastly, always make sure that you have a separate chopping board for slicing your meat and cutting your vegetables.

Travel Smart

When traveling, it is very significant to take caution. You can, for instance, do background research on the place you are going to and make sure that you carry everything you need. If you are not certain of the water you will drink, carry your own. In addition, it is always advisable to eat food that has been cooked and to avoid uncooked vegetables unless you prepare them by yourself or are certain of the preparation.

Exercise Caution with AnimalsHow To Prevent Infectious Diseases From Spreading

Zoonotic infection are infections that can be spread from animals to humans. They are common, and if you have animals in your home including your pets, you should carry out regular checks and make sure that they are vaccinated.

Bottom Line

Preventing infections is easier than treating them. You can imagine how much money you can save by only preventing diseases. So, don’t know how to prevent infectious diseases from spreading? By practicing all of the items on the list, you should be able to keep yourself safe from infectious diseases. You should also be updated and watch the news regularly on developments of infections.
